Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.
Canteen
All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.
The Hunger Hut
Our canteen is open 5 days a week and caters for recess and lunch orders for the students of Shelley. It sells a wide variety of healthy food options for everyone.
All lunch orders should be made before school begins at 8:55am.
Students attending PSSA on a Friday may order their lunch, just make sure to write 'PSSA' on their lunch order bag.

Uniforms
When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.
Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:
meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation
includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics
is appropriate for the full range of school activities
is suitable for all body shapes.

Technology
Shelley Public School actively promotes the use of Technology in teaching in learning. Our purpose built computer lab allows for every student to have access to a computer.
All students benefit from lessons conducted with the use of Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) installed in every classroom, including our library, the connected classroom and now the music room as well. Thanks to the support of our P&C, we achieved our goal of having an interactive Whiteboard in every K-6 classroom during 2011.
During 2010 our new library was completed and now has its own mini lab of 15 networked computers for visiting classes. As well as this the library has a Connected Classroom installed, which allows a class to communicate in real time, via an audio-visual TV link, with other classes across the state. This new technology will allow students the opportunity to greatly widen their learning experiences. Adjoining the library is a smaller teaching room, which also has an IWB installed.
Our old library was converted into a special purpose learning area. The main room will also continue to have the existing Connected Classroom installation. This learning space also includes a mini lab, thanks to the generous support of our P&C.
Shelley PS is working towards our goal of having 3 desktops computers, in addition to an Interactive Whiteboard, operating in every classroom to help enhance and extend the learning of our students.
Since 2012 iPads have been steadily integrated into classroom teaching and learning. As of Term 3, 2017, we have 50 iPads that are utilised every day in our classes K-6 classrooms, to enrich student learning. All Stage 3 classrooms now have a dedicated set of their own in addition to these.
We are now looking to increase this even further to continue supporting 21st Century Learning skills across all KLA's.
In 2017, we finalised the installation of WIFI network across the entire school, allowing students and staff to access the school network (and filtered internet) remotely, from anywhere around the school.
