Travel to school

There are a range of safe transport options to get to our school. Check our location map, driving details and public transport options to help make the journey to school safe and easy. Many Shelley families are able to walk to and from school.

Catching public transport

Public transport is a great way to safely get to and from school.

Catching a bus

The nearest bus stop is on Blacktown Rd (about 500m away).

Catching a train

Blacktown station is approximately 4.5km from our school.

Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

• ensure you park safely
• follow speed signs
• do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.

Kiss and Drop

• The speed limit is 5km / hour. Please abide by this for the safety of everyone.
• Please observe the ENTRY and EXIT signs. (Do NOT enter via the exit or use the entry as a turning bay).
• Please drive in and right around the horseshoe to allow room for the maximum number of vehicles.
• It is preferred that you do not leave your vehicle - parents may get out to assist with seatbelts, but we ask that you do not get out to fix hair, tie shoelaces, have a hug etc. This helps to keep the traffic flowing for everyone!
• Drivers may stop to drop off or pick up children for a maximum of 2 minutes.
• Drivers must remain in or within 3 metres of their vehicle.
• Ensure children get in or out of the vehicle on the kerb side.
• All vehicles MUST turn LEFT as they exit the Kiss and Drop area.
• Under no circumstances should parents or students walk on the Kiss and Drop roadway area.
• The gates to the Kiss and Drop area will close at 9:00 am and will re-open at 2:45 pm.
• Do not park your car - the parking area is for Shelley staff and SOSH ONLY, between 8:30 am -3:30 pm. If you need to come on to school grounds to see a teacher, please park outside the school gates and walk in.
• If the gates close whilst you are still in the Kiss and Drop, the gates will open automatically as vehicles drive out. (Pedestrians, however, will need to walk around to the staff car park pedestrian gate).

Drop Off

• Students should walk directly to the K-2 playground to enter the school.

Pick Up

• Ensure your NAME CARD is in a clearly visible location on your dash.
• Ensure children have their seatbelt securely fastened before driving off.
